  • 1. High Motor Reliability: three-phase variable-frequency induction motor, low construction cost, low failure rate, basically maintenance-free, high operating efficiency and strong applicability. The parameters can be adjusted in different shapes to meet the design requirements of special vehicles.

    2. Explosion-proof Variable-frequency Drive: The Variable-frequency Drive uses direct torque control technology (DTC) no sliding contact or joint, and basically maintenance-free.

    3. Excellent Energy Saving Performance: the frequency regulator uses constant torque output control below the rated frequency, and the energy saving effect of the feedback brake is very obvious. 

    4. Performance:

    1) Stepless uniform speed regulation, the minimum adjustable frequency is 0.1Hz, and the minimum adjustable wheel rotating speed is 0.5 RPM.    

    2) The zero position of the speed regulator is the brake position. When the locomotive is running from high speed to low speed, even though the locomotive has the high speed inertia, the locomotive’s motor and wheels are still running at a low speed. In fact, at this time,,the motor acts as a brake deceleration.

    3) The maximum locomotive speed limit can be set. Once the vehicle speed is set, the locomotive will not exceed the set speed even if it is running on a downhill road, so as to avoid accident caused by the driver.

    4) A four-quadrant operation of the traction/braking condition can be achieved owing to the non-contact control. The speed range is large, the speed is stable, and the frequency can be adjusted continuously. It is the stepless speed regulation that can improve the locomotive's adhesion performance.

  • 1 Appearance Features

    The CT series Explosion-proof Special Battery Electrical Locomotive mainly consists of a mechanical system, an electrical system, and a power supply device.

    2 Mechanical Part

    The mechanical part mainly consists of a carbody, a travel device, a brake device, a sanding device, a cab, vibration dampers and buffers. It transfers the mechanical energy generated by the traction motor to the travel device, and provides the traction power to the locomotive, namely the rimpull.

    2.1 Carbody

    The carbody is welded into a frame-like structure consisting of left and right side plates, front and rear end plates, and intermediate partitions. The carbody is supported on the bearing box of the travel component through four groups of vibration dampers, so that the carbody and the travel device are connected. The buffer is installed at the front and rear end plates of the carbody, so as to mitigate impact and connect the mine car. The cab is installed at the end of of the carbody with a ceiling. The power supply device is located on the power supply device bracket at the top of the carbody, which is connected and fastened with four positioning pins.

    2.2 Travel Device

    The travel device mainly consists of a speed reducer, wheelset, bearing boxes, coupler, a traction motor bracket, elastic suspension and so on.

    The speed reducer is made of nodular cast iron. The inside of the box is equipped with large and small bevel gears as well as small and large spur gears. The gear shaft is fixed to the body through a roller bearing to form a speed reduction mechanism.The internal gears of the speed reducer are lubricated with the lubricating oil.

    The wheelset consists of a wheel shaft, a wheel core and a wheel rim, there are bearing boxes at both ends of the wheelset, the tapered roller bearing is installed in the bearing box, and the wheel rim is made of wheel rim steel.

    2.3 Brake Device

    The CT Series Explosion-proof Special Battery Electrical Locomotive adopts both mechanical and electric brakes, and two cabs can conduct braking operation respectively. During mechanical braking, the driver rotates the handwheel in a clockwise direction, drives the crossbeam, tiebars and connecting rod through screw and nut, and then drives the left and right brake shoe. At the same time, brake the inner side of the two groups of wheels. After the brake shoe is worn, the brake shoe gap regulator can be adjusted, so that the gap between the brake shoe and the rim can maintain a gap of 2 to 3 mm and the spring leaf can be adjusted with the adjusting screw, so that the gap between the working surface of the brake shoe and the wheel tread is maintained uniform, so as to guarantee the braking effect.

    2.4 Sanding Device

    The locomotive sanding device adopts the principle of swing vibration and sand falling. The two sets of sand boxes are arranged on the outside of the two wheel sets respectively . During locomotive operation, the sanding handle can be used to perform sanding at any time. The sand used for the sanding device shall be screened and dried before use. The function of sanding is to increase the adhesion force of the locomotive, so as to ensure the normal operation of the locomotive.

    2.5 Driver's Cab

    The cab is welded with the roof, panel, left and right side plates, and is botled to the end of the car body. The cab can prevent rainwater, falling rock, etc, so as to protect driver’s personal safety. An observation window is opened at the cab panel, and an illuminating lamp is installed. The adjustable frequency drive, brake handwheel, sanding handle, etc. are set in the cab.

    2.6 Vibration Dampers

    The CT Series Explosion-proof Special Battery Electrical Locomotive has a rubber damper or a spring damper. The vibration dampers shall be suspended on the left and right sides of the frame, and supported on the wheelset bearing boxes, so as to play the role of damping.

    2.7 Buffers

    The buffers shall be installed on the front and rear end plates of the carbody, so as to mitigate impact between the locomotive and mine car during operation, and play a role in connecting mine car and buffer. The buffer consists of the shell, contact head and a spring. The shell is welded with steel plate, and the head is made of cast steel.


  • 1. It is applicable for the roadway with gas and coal dust explosion hazard.

    2. The elevation shall not exceed 1,200m.

    3. The maximum ambient temperature shall be +40℃ (104oF), and the minimum shall be -20℃ (-4oF).

    4. The monthly average maximum relative humidity of the most humid month shall be less than 95% (the monthly average minimum temperature of the same month shall not be higher than +25℃/77oF).

    5. No sufficient gas or conductive dust to cause metal corrosion or insulation damage.

    6. The longitudinal direction of the electric locomotive should have an impact velocity with acceleration no greater than 30m/s2

    7. The narrow-gauge track roadbed and the turnout laying quality should be in compliance with provisions in GBJ213 and Article 328 of Safety Rules for Coal Mine.
